ABOUT JEMMA
My name is Jemma Wemyss and I am a Play Therapist, SandStory Therapist and trainer from Bangor, Northern Ireland. I am also a Forest School leader and mum to two lively boys.
Booking to attend SandStory Therapy® Level 1 training in January 2020 was a decision of the heart for me. I had almost committed to another course which would have changed the trajectory of my work but instead felt the magnetic pull towards SandStory Therapy®. So I hopped on a plane from Belfast to London and answered the call and the rest, as they say, is history.
I have since become a registered SandStory Skills® Trainer and most recently a SandStory Therapy® Trainer. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to share the wonder of sand and symbols to allow space for many more stories to be told.
The thing I love most about SandStory Therapy® is how my young clients respond to it. The structure of the session cocoons my clients with safety, warmth and respect. The sessions flow gently, taking the clients' lead while simultaneously providing a clear beginning, middle and end. It honours the telling of their story and supports me as a therapist to truly hear it.
